JETS MEN’S GOLD TEAM 2-1

The Toronto Golden Jets gold team went 2-1 to start the 2017 MLWP season.
Driving six hours to Montreal, the team arrived on deck just in time to play its game against the defending MLWP champion Montreal CAMO.

No one expected what then happened. The Jets jumped out to a 5-0 first quarter lead and never looked winning 14-5.

Daniel Ugray led the way with 4 goals. Rudy Despaigne, Euan Scoffield and Mike Chapman each scored a pair with singles going to Milos Radojcic, Matt Hart, Sever Topan and Sukhmun Hare.
The next day it was a tilt against the Mavs, a team sporting three National Team members. The first quarter was a tight affair with the Jets edgin out inf ront 3-2. The Jets widened the gap to 6-3 at the half. Then, thanks to some stifling defence which held their opponents goalless, the Jets went into the 4th quarter leading 9-3 before settling for a 12-8 victory.

Despaigne and Ugray each notched 4 goals while Tuna Tali, Paul Spooner, Hart and Topan scored once.
A few hours later it was back in the pool against the Ottawa Titans, also reinforced by National Team players in from Calgary where the team is centralized. The Jets were never in the game at the start falling behind 6-1 into the second quarter. However, the team pulled itself together to close the gap to 9-7 half way through the 4th quarter before a phantom game exclusion call on Ugray put the team down for 4 minutes ultimatelyending with a 11-7 loss.
