The U12 program is for boys and girls ages 10 and 11 as of December 31 after the September start to the competitive year. This program is designed to teach and develop advanced water polo skills to prepare water polo players for competition. Advanced beginners and recreational players will learn the necessary skills-foundation to play competitive water polo. Skills development for advanced ball-handling, passing, shooting, goal-tending, teamwork and game strategies will be emphasized.
This program will allow them to participate at the Provincial and National League levels, competing against other teams in Ontario and Quebec.
Training is scheduled for 3-5 practices per week depending on level of play and training commitment, including dryland training and a classroom/video session as needed . This program provides the best transition for a young athlete wanting to move forward into the Competitive stream in the future.
In the words of coach Mohamed Rezk:
“ Currently, I coach 10-15-year-olds. My team practices 5 days a week and follows a detailed system that we have all agreed to commit to before joining the team. The system includes 5 main rules that the athletes, as well as myself, know by heart and respect. My approach is not only specific to developing them into elite athletes but also ensures they build a healthy lifestyle and become responsible men who think logically before they speak and act. You will find my teams regularly involved in meditation, dry land exercises, nutrition seminars as well as other fun team-bonding activities. I’m extremely involved with my teams and my long-term goal is to guide them into becoming leaders one day and to help them accomplish their individual goals in Water Polo as well as in life.”
