The Toronto Golden Jets senior men’s Navy team lost both of its games to open the 2026 NCL season on Friday at Scarborough’s Pan Am pool.

The Jets were presented with the daunting task of playing the defending national champions CAMO (Montreal) and had to do so with a thin roster due to work and school commitments.

The reigning champs made short work of the Jets winning the first two quarters by a combined 13-0 score before coasting to a 21-4 win.

Andrew Reed led the way for Toronto with a hat trick while Wesley Carson picked up the other tally.

Later in the day, the Jets faced off against CHAOS, another Montreal squad, and made things much closer before falling 12-7.

Toronto trailed 3-1 after one quarter but then played a 3-3 second quarter to still trail by two. The Jets put up another spirited quarter in the third tieing 2-2 and keeping the spread at two.

Unfortunately, even with a couple of more players added to the morning roster, the team ran out of gas in the fourth losing the quarter 4-1.

Reed again led the way with a hat trick, Harrison Young added a pair of top corner lasers with Daniel Gonzalez also scoring twice.

The Jets Navy team will be in Group 3 on Saturday facing Hamilton 2 and Tiburon (Montreal) the third place finishers from Pools B & C respectively.
