The Toronto Golden Jets senior women’s team won its first two games of the 2026 NCL season on Friday at the Pan Am pool in Scarborough.

In the early afternoon, the Jets opened the tournament with a convincing 20-5 win over Ottawa Red. Toronto exploded out of the gate roaring to a 7-1 first quarter lead. The Jets extended the lead to 12-3 at half time.

The visitors played a close 2-3 third quarter but still found themselves down 15-5 heading into the final period. The Jets then shut Ottawa down en route to a 5-0 fourth quarter.

In the second game which would determine the winner of Pool B, the 1-0 Jets faced off against the 1-0 Team Saskatchewan.

Toronto got out to a good start scoring three straight before Team Sask got one back leaving the Jets ahead 3-1 entering the second quarter of play. Team Sask reversed the two goal loss from the first quarter to tie things up 5-5 at the half.

The teams fought to a 3-3 stalemate in the third quarter and a 8-8 score overall. It was a tale of two half quarters with the Jets scoring three times in a row to jump ahead 8-5 only to see Team Sask rally back to tie the game up.

The Jets scored on their first attack of the fourth quarter to lead 9-8. However, Team Sask tied it up and then took the lead 10-9 with two and a half minutes remaining. But the Jets dug deep and scored twice including a power play marker by Devon Lynch with just under a minute remaining to pull out the 11-10 victory.

Lynch led the Jets scorers with a hat trick that was matched by Hannah Levin. Tyanna Supreme notched a couple of goals from the center while Josie Andrist, Leanne Bolstad and Ava Stimson netted singles.

The Jets will enter into Group 1 for two games Saturday against the winners from Pool A (CAMO – Montreal) and Pool C (Calgary Renegades).
